One Year Old!

I can't believe I am writing this post. WHAT?! no way is my baby 1. But sure enough... I seriously don't even know where to begin. I love this little girl more than anything in the whole world. I love her more than I ever knew possible. She brings so much joy and happiness to our lives. I love waking up to her everyday! She is seriously so fun and such a good baby. She is so happy all the time! We are so blessed. I am so grateful to my Father in Heaven to trust me with one of his very special spirits! She makes our home and our lives so much better.

at 12 months:
height: 28 3/4 in (50%)
weight: 21lbs 9oz (75%)

-Walking! -still pretty wobbly and would prefer crawling but hey..she CAN walk :)

-Babbles ALL the time

-Says mama & dada
-Throws fits.. those are fun!

-Wears size 4 diapers

-Still in 9-12 month clothes but can fit into some 18 month also

-Wears size 3 shoe

-Blows kisses

-Waves bye bye

-Loves food..any and all!- her favorites are blueberries, bananas, cream of wheat, nutri-grain

bars, cheese bunnies, and fruit snacks when she gets them

-Loves reading her books

-Loves going for walks, bike rides, feeding the ducks and swinging!..pretty much anything outside

-Still loves her baths and showers! She gets so mad if me or Tommy are in the shower and she can't get in!

-Climbs the stairs like a champ

-Goes to bed at about 8 until usually 9 and takes 2 naps a day still!

I could go on for hours about all the cute things she learns and does everyday. My favorite part of the day is bedtime. We have our little routine that she knows :) We get her milk, go in her room and brush her teeth, pick out a couple books and sit in the glider. After we read we turn her light off, her noise machine on and sit back in the glider and sing...this is my favorite part. She lays her head on my shoulder and stares at me while I sing her songs and puts her hand on my cheek. Everynight. I seriously get teary eyed everynight while we do this. She is the sweetest thing. I love this little girl with all my heart. Happy Birthday Lyla!

On her birthday I was mean and scheduled a Dr appointment...I know I know :( I'm awful. So we got home from that, took a nap, then woke up to presents! She still didn't quite know what to do with the presents but she enjoyed ripping the paper into tiny pieces :) She LOVES her rocking horse, best gift ever! If you push his ear and he starts singing while shes in the other room it only takes her about 5 seconds to get into her room from wherever she is!

playing catch up..

We've been getting out of the house lately and doing fun things and I haven't posted about any of them! For Christmas we got a bike seat for Lyla so she could join us on our rides :) She seems to enjoy it!

We joined in with a couple of my sisters a month or so back and went to superstition farms and took their litle tour. Lyla loved the big fluffy bunnies that they have just sitting out there on tables. We fed the goats..went on a hay ride..tried milk at the milk bar..and had so much fun!

A few weeks ago Tommy and I took Lyla to the zoo! I went with my mom and sisters back when she was like 2 months old so it didn't really count for her :)..but she loved it this time! She was in total awe of the animals and would just point and clap and smile at them. Too bad its gonna be hot here soon (and the fact that its 18 bucks a person!) or we would make this a weekly event!

My family all got together over Presidents Day and went on a family "hike" at hole in the rock! We used to do this all the time growing up and it brought back so many fun memories of my sweet grandma :) We had a little picnic and hung out with all the cousins! Thanks mom and dad for planning it!

Walking

Our baby girl is walking! :) She has been cruisin around the furniture for quite awhile now, and also standing on her own but was too chicken to take a step. Well last night I put her down to stand up while I sat down and she took 2 steps toward me! Luckily Tommy and I were both home to witness it :) So he sat down and we took turns having her walk to us..and she ended up taking 6 steps in a row! She was so proud of herself and everytime we would say yay she would get so excited and clap and flap her arms :) Im so loving this stage of my princesses life. I am so blessed to have her. Love you pickles :) (thats a nick name Tommy gave her for some odd reason and it stuck..)

11 months

My princess is almost a whole year old. 11 months! Where did the time go..seriously. Lyla is so fun. I am so blessed to be her mommy. I couldn't imagine my life without this sweet girl. I must have done something right for Heavenly Father to trust me to raise such a sweet spirit of his! We love our baby girl more than anything!!!

at 11 months:

-eats all sorts of solid foods

-crawls like a crazy woman

-loves to swing..would be out there all day if I let her!

-loves to be outside

-loves to go for walks

-getting her 4 top front teeth all at once

-still sleeps in till 8:30 or 9 and takes 2 1 1/2-2 hr naps a day!

-still wears size 3 diapers

-still in 12 month clothes

-reaches for people to pick her up and hold her

-claps her hands anytime you say yay!

-signs "more" and "all done" :)

-had her first big bonk and goose egg :(

Love you princess! Can't believe how fast you are growing up. You are the best thing that has ever happened to your daddy and I!

10 months.. yikes! these months just keep flying by.. what the heck!

at 10 months my baby girl is..

-CRAWLING! woot woot :) finally..unless she really wants something fast she still army styles it

-walks like crazy if shes holding onto something

-claps her hands!

-Eats all day long! LOVES snacks and her sippy cup of water or juice!

I love this little girl more than anything. I can't believe she is already almost 1 :( a whole year almost gone by! I love watching her grow and learn and can't wait to see what the next year holds!! Love you baby!

Christmas 2011

Christmas was super busy this year! Seems like everything is busier with a baby :) But so much more fun! We had lots of family parties..lots! It was so great seeing everyone. Lyla still wasn't sure what to do with the presents :) but had fun none the less! I love having her around now..she seriously makes everything so much better..I am so grateful for her..I can't imagine not having her in our lives! Here are a few fun pictures from our craziness!.. I also got some 9 month pictures of lyla taken and since it was right around christmas we did a little christmas shoot..thanks marc!!

4 years!

Today, 4 years ago I married my best friend. He truly is amazing. He is kind, smart, hard working, handsome, worthy, honest, the greatest daddy in the world, selfless, and most of all he loves me unconditionally. I am so grateful for him and the man he is. I love him more than words can express. This year for our anniversary was a little different having a little one! But my sister ever so graciously offered to watch the babe so we dropped her off and headed off for a night out..which consisted of dinner and then....we went home. :) We ended up watching a movie at home and both just missed Lyla. We left her at Mellys though! I was surprised we didn't go pick her up in the middle of the night between the both of us being so sad to be away from her for the 1st time. But we did it! hooray! It was nothing fancy, but being with him made the night wonderful. I Love our one on one time even as little as it may be now days. I love you Thomas. Thank you for being my husband for the past 4 years... I can't believe I get you for eternity!
